Typical pump station service checklist
✅ Visual inspection and condition check of the sump, internal pipework and all cabling within the pump station (inc. cable jointing kits where applicable).
✅ Inspection of all float switches, including high level alarm float.
✅ Pump station naturally (if possible) pumped down to check overall pump performance.
✅ Valves checked to ensure they’re working correctly.
✅ Test operation of high level alarm (if applicable). Check battery and mains supply.
✅ Test operation of battery backup (if applicable). Ensure it goes into backup mode correctly.
✅ Test operation of control panel (if applicable). Ensure auto changeover (dual).
✅ Basic clean of floats, pumps and chamber walls.
✅ Visual inspection of pump/s and impeller.
✅ Adjustment of floats and pumps within the pump station to ensure correct activation.
✅ Test all pumps to ensure operation (automatic or manual).
✅ Label spurs and panels (where necessary).
✅ Reset service reminder (if applicable).
✅ Check work area is left tidy, gate valve left open and power (battery where applicable and mains) is left on for all equipment.
✅ Complete job sheet for the customer and leave service pack. Make recommendations where required.
If you have more than 3 pump stations, our Customer Care Team will be able to quote you for this. These prices may change depending on Health & Safety requirements at your property (i.e second engineer required, etc.). Commercial rates may differ from those quoted above. Under sink pump stations typically require a full major clean and service at the same time – prices may differ from those above, please ask a member of our Customer Care Team.

We keep it simple at Paragon Pump Servicing; we do what we know best! A basement pump service with us starts from just £160 for one pump station or £215 for two. We suggest two services per year, but our specialist engineers will always recommend a suitable interval.

Please remember, basement pumps are not the first line of defence against flooding. They are in place to evacuate potential water ingress through the structure of the basement or foul water from facilities below the main sewer level.
All prices are subject to change depending on your premises’ health and safety requirements (i.e. two men required) and the equipment on-site. Prices will be communicated to you upon booking. Up-front payment is required at the time of booking for the works, either by card over the phone or via a payment request invoice. All prices quoted throughout this website are inclusive of VAT and are correct at the time of publication. If remedial works are required, this may be able to be done at the time of the service. Our engineer will advise, and payment will be taken accordingly. Prices do not include the provision of any equipment. Works completed by Paragon Pumps Limited T/A Paragon Pump Servicing are considered the best effort at that snapshot in time, and we assume no responsibility/liability for what may happen to the pump station after installation/commissioning and in-between service visits. We exclude liability for any damage, personal or business losses. Prices quoted may differ depending on geographic location of work. We will not be liable if the pump station has been incorrectly specified, supplied or installed incorrectly by a third party. If we attend site and the area or pump station is inaccessible, unfit for work, not ready for installation, etc. you will be liable to a cancelled call charge.
